Origin

Nox is the god of the moon, unnatural death (by combat, poison, murder, outside forces), life (the soul), healing, and child mischief. He chases his sister Ix through the sky and uses his sling to try to slow her down in their endless game, creating the stars in the sky with his sling bullets. The souls of those who died unnaturally follow him in his chase and enter the afterlife.

Ix is Nox's older sister and the goddess of the sun, natural death (old age, accidents, sickness), life (the soul), healing, and child innocence. She plays with her brother Nox in the skies and her joy brings the light of day to the world. Her rapier cuts through darkness and creates the rays of the sun. The souls of those who died naturally follow him in her romps through the sky and enter the afterlife.
